The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
  Polk County in western Arkansas...
  Southwestern Scott County in western Arkansas...

* Until 330 PM CDT.

* At 1239 PM CDT, Showers were ending in Scott and Polk Counties.
  Overnight and into this morning, three to more than six inches of
  rain occurred, with up to ten inches in a few spots. This much
  rain caused widespread flooding. At Mena, numerous roads were
  under water, including portions of Highways 88 and 375. At least
  two high water rescues were performed. Even though rain was moving
  out, it will take some time for water to runoff.

* Impacts include flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas,
  highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Mena, Wickes, Grannis, Hatfield, Vandervoort, Beauchamp, Polk
  County Fairgrounds, Mena Intermountain Airport, Mccauley, Queen
  Wilhelmina State Park, Cossatot River State Park, Shady, Mountain
  Fork, Hartley, Caney Creek Wilderness, Bard Springs Recreation
  Area, Morgan Springs, Oliver, Cove and Bates.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

  the Neuse River At Kinston.
* Until further notice.
* At 9:31 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 16.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
  at 9:31 AM EDT Wednesday was 16.3 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to fall. It will then fall below
  flood stage Sunday morning to 12.5 feet Monday morning.
* Impact...At 16.0 feet, Flooding of the campground at the Nature
  Center is expected. Water encroaches onto other properties along
  the south side of the river.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 16.1
  feet on 10/07/2010.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the St Mary`s River At Macclenny.
* Until further notice.
* At 8:45 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 13.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.6 feet
  tomorrow morning.
* Impact...At 12.0 feet, Minor flooding of low lying areas and
  timber lands including some properties along St. Mary`s River
  Bluff Road and the Cypress Landing Resort on the Georgia side.
* Impact...At 14.0 feet, Flooding of bottomlands along the river and
  some lower access roads inlcuding the lower half of St. Mary`s
  River Bluff Road which cuts off 15 to 20 homes on the Georgia side.
* Impact...At 15.0 feet, Flooding begins to impact the lower end of
  Steel Bridge Road on the Florida side and cuts off access to the
  river gage as well as access to several homes.

  at 3:45 PM CDT Tuesday was 16.9 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to remain steady above flood
  stage at 16.8 feet.
* Impact...At 17.0 feet, County roads begin flooding and the road 2
  miles north of the gauging location is one of the first to flood
