...DENSE FOG TO AFFECT THE COASTAL WATERS THROUGH AT LEAST MONDAY
MORNING...

Mariners should be prepared for abrupt visibility under one
nautical mile due to a blanket of fog covering the entirety of
the coastal waters. Reduce speeds and be on the lookout for
exposed rocks and other vessels, including large ships in the
shipping lanes. Use radar or GPS navigation if available, and
consider remaining in harbor if such equipment is unavailable.
Conditions are anticipated to improve Monday morning, but the fog
may linger later into the early afternoon.

A north-northeast swell produced by a storm in the north Pacific
will build late Sunday night into Monday producing surges in north
facing harbors including Hilo and Kahului Harbors. The swell will
also produce breaking waves near the harbor entrances. Mariners
using these harbors should exercise caution when entering or
leaving port and when mooring or launching vessels.
