.Winds will strengthen in the high deserts of southwestern San
Bernardino County today with gusts to 50 mph possible at times
from late morning through late evening.

  especially for high profile vehicles.

.A low pressure system moving across the Southern Appalachian
Region will increase winds across the area. Strong and gusty
winds will continue over the higher elevations of the East TN
Mountains and portions of Southwest VA.

  limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 26 to 39 mph and/or gusts of
40 to 57 mph are expected or occurring. Winds this strong can
make driving difficult...especially for high profile vehicles.

...STRONG GUSTY WEST WINDS THROUGH THE HIGH EASTERN SANGRE DE
CRISTOS AND CENTRAL HIGHLANDS NOW THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON...

.Strong westerly winds aloft are reaching the surface along the
east slopes of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Central
Highlands at Clines Corners. Strong winds will continue through
the morning before subsiding in the afternoon when mountain wave
activity is expected to diminish. Strong cross winds will
produce hazardous travel for north-south oriented roadways in the
advised area. Strong headwinds will also impact westbound drivers
along I-40 through the Central Highlands.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect until 3 PM MST this afternoon.

* LOCATION...East Slopes of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and
  Central Highlands, including Clines Corners.

* WINDS...West 35 to 40 mph with occasional gusts up to 55 mph.

* TIMING...Now through 3 pm MST.

* VISIBILITY...Locally reduced from blowing ground snow.

* LOCAL IMPACTS...Strong crosswinds will produce hazardous travel
  for drivers on north to south oriented highways. Strong
  headwinds will also impact westbound drivers along I-40 through
  the Central Highlands.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should exercise caution while travelling. Sudden gusts
of wind may cause you to lose control of your vehicle. Extra
attention should be given to cross winds.

MIDNIGHT PST WEDNESDAY NIGHT...

* WINDS...Southwest 20 to 35 mph with gusts as high as 50 mph.

* TIMING...Winds will increase mid morning Wednesday, peak in the
  mid afternoon hours, then decreasing through the evening.

* IMPACTS... Strong crosswinds will make travel difficult
  especially for high profile vehicles. Additionally, there could
  be areas of blowing dust and sand briefly reducing
  visibilities. Unsecured objects may be blown away.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drivers should be prepared to encounter strong crosswinds which
will make driving difficult...especially for high profile
vehicles. Use extra caution.
