...North Gales Possible Again Next Week...

.Winds and seas will gradually diminish from the north tonight,
and by Saturday morning, small craft advisory conditions should be
confined to the southern waters. However, north winds will
increase again Sunday and Sunday night as a thermal trough
develops inland. By Monday, north winds may reach gales south of
Cape Blanco with small craft advisory level winds and seas
elsewhere. Hazardous conditions will continue through at least
mid-week.

...GALE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH LATE
WEDNESDAY NIGHT...

The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a Gale Watch...
which is in effect from Monday morning through late Wednesday
night.

* Winds...North 10 to 15 KT through tonight then diminishing.
  North winds increase again later Saturday and reach 20 to 30 KT
  by Sunday. Winds increase further and may reach gales 30 to 35
  kt with gusts to 45 kt by Monday and could continue through
  Wednesday night.

* Seas...Steep 7 to 8 feet at 7 seconds through tonight then
  diminishing. Seas then start to build again Sunday and combined
  seas reach 8 to 13 feet by Monday and continue through at least
  Wednesday night.

* Areas affected and timing...All areas will be affected through
  tonight. Areas downwind of Cape Blanco and beyond 5 NM from
  shore will be affected from later Saturday through Monday
  morning. Gales and heavy seas are possible downwind of Cape
  Blanco later Monday through Wednesday night with small craft
  conditions elsewhere.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Small Craft Advisory means that winds and seas will create a
potential hazard to smaller vessels and inexperienced mariners.

A Gale Watch is issued when the risk of gale force winds of 34 to
47 knots has significantly increased, but the specific timing
and/or location is still uncertain. It is intended to provide
additional lead time for mariners who may wish to consider
altering their plans.
