A haboob along an outflow boundary from
storms to the west of Roswell caused blowing
dust and extremely low visibility on U.S.
285 south of Roswell. The low visibility
from the blowing dust resulted in two
pileups on the U.S. Highway. one at Ojibwa
Road and U.S. 285 and the other at Orchard
Park and U.S. 285. Pictures shared from the
Fire Chief of the Dexter Fire Department
show several stalled vehicles and one
extremely damaged car on the passenger side
due to the pileup. The highway was closed by
multiple agencies due to the pileups and the
low visibility from the blowing dust.
