At 506 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Ames Municipal Airport, or over Ames, moving east at 40 mph. HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near... Ames and Ames Municipal Airport around 510 AM CDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Ames Municipal Airport, Kelley, and Cambridge. This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 105 and 119.
