Issued at 235 PM CDT Sat Jun 8 2024 Tonight: Weak high pressure builds into the area with clearing skies and light winds. Lows will bottom out in the mid to upper 50s. Sunday: Deep trough in southern Quebec sends another reinforcing cold front into the area. With the airmass quite dry no pcpn is expected and there will actually be plenty of sunshine. What the front will do is allow for winds to crank up again from the north behind the front. Wind gusts to around 30 to 35 mph can be expected especially along and north of I-80. Highs will be in the mid 70s to lower 80s. && .LONG TERM /SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/... Issued at 235 PM CDT Sat Jun 8 2024 Sunday night and Monday: Due to the frontal passage, temperatures will be somewhat cooler. Lows should drop into the upper 40s north to the mid 50s south, with highs on Monday in the pleasant lower to mid 70s. Tuesday through Saturday: Strong active zonal flow develops across the northern United States, pulling warmer air into the forecast area. Temperatures will be turning hot and also it will become more humid as the week progresses. Readings will be pushing to around 90 at most locations later in the week, with dewpoints into the 60s.
