...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 PM CDT
FOR NORTHWESTERN DUBUQUE AND EASTERN DELAWARE COUNTIES...
At 753 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Cassville to Camp Little Cloud to near Cascade,
moving northeast at 75 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Dyersville, Farley, Earlville, New Vienna, Colesburg, Worthington,
Holy Cross, Luxemburg, Rickardsville, Delaware, Balltown, Bankston,
Bankston Park, Cottage Hill, Finley`s Landing Park, New Wine Park,
Waupeton, and Petersburg.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for northeastern
Iowa.
This is a DANGEROUS SITUATION. These storms are producing widespread
wind damage across east central Iowa. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a
sturdy structure and stay away from windows.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature`s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
