.DISCUSSION...Dry and hot weather will continue for the interior
today, especially in Trinity, Lake and interior Mendocino counties
Temperatures are forecast to trend down on Thursday, but remain
above normal. Minimum RH`s from 15 to 30% are expected each day
through this weekend in the interior. Overnight RH recoveries will
remain good where winds decouple and become calm. Much poorer RH
recoveries around 30% and lower are expected over exposed ridges,
especially where strong and gusty northerly winds persist through
the night. Significant cooling and much stronger westerly to northwesterly
winds are forecast for the interior Friday through Sunday. Potential
for fast spreading grass fires will increase this weekend, especially
on Sunday when westerly to northwesterly winds are forecast to be
strongest. Dry weather, occasionally breezy westerly to northwesterly
winds and a slight warming trend are expected early to mid next week.
Wetting rain potential remains very slight early to mid next week, no
more than a 22% chance for Del Norte and northern Humboldt counties.
