404 WWUS76 KEKA 111046 NPWEKA URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Eureka CA 346 AM PDT Tue Jun 11 2024 CAZ115-111915- /O.CON.KEKA.HT.Y.0002.240611T1800Z-240612T0300Z/ Southern Lake- Including Clearlake Park, Knobcone Camp, Clearlake, Middletown, Lakeport, Hidden Valley Lake, and Finley 346 AM PDT Tue Jun 11 2024 ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 8 PM PDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...High temperatures from 98 to 103 degrees expected. * WHERE...Southern Lake. * WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 8 PM PDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during the afternoon. Those without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration will be at the greatest risk. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
