Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

The overnight hours have seen cloud cover increase near the
Colorado border with clear skies elsewhere in the region. A few
showers were also beginning to form in East-Central Colorado.
Temperatures as of one in the morning ranged from 60 in Kit
Carson, Colorado to 68 in Hoxie, Kansas. Winds have been from the
south at 5 to 15 mph.

OUTLOOK... A hot and sunny day is forecast for today with highs
climbing into the mid to upper 90`s. A few 100`s may be possible.
This afternoon and evening then see a system move through the area
and help develop storms. Storms could be severe with large hail
and damaging wind gusts. Through the night, storm coverage will
decrease with mostly cloudy skies. Lows are forecast to drop into
the 50`s and 60`s. Tomorrow, much cooler conditions with highs in
the 70`s and 80`s underneath partly cloudy skies. The afternoon
evening hours are forecast to see storms develop again and move
across the region. A few may be severe, along with the chance for
heavy rain and flooding.
