...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 AM
MDT/115 AM CDT/ FOR NORTHEASTERN CHEYENNE AND NORTHERN RAWLINS
COUNTIES IN NORTHWESTERN KANSAS...HITCHCOCK AND EASTERN DUNDY
COUNTIES IN SOUTHWESTERN NEBRASKA...

At 1155 PM MDT/1255 AM CDT/, severe thunderstorms were located along
a line extending from 8 miles southeast of Wauneta to 4 miles east of
Stratton to 10 miles north of McDonald, moving east at 35 mph.

THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS FOR STRATTON.

HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and two inch hail.

SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. Hail 2 inches in diameter was
         reported 8 miles NNW of Stratton at 1153 PM CDT.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
         shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect
         considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
         Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

These severe storms will be near...
  Trenton around 100 AM CDT.
  Culbertson around 115 AM CDT.

Other locations impacted by these severe thunderstorms include Max.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 200 AM MDT/300 AM CDT/ for
northwestern Kansas...and southwestern Nebraska.

This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION with tornado like wind
speeds expected. Mobile homes and high profile vehicles are
especially susceptible to winds of this magnitude and may be
overturned. For your protection move to an interior room on the
lowest floor of a building. These storms have the potential to cause
serious injury and significant property damage.
