...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT EASTERN CATAWBA AND SOUTHWESTERN
IREDELL COUNTIES THROUGH 515 PM EDT...

At 450 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Newton, or near Claremont, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Newton, Conover, Claremont, Catawba, Lake Norman, Lake Norman State
Park, Lookout Shoals Lake, Sherrills Ford, Terrell, and Bandys.
