* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southern Madison County in western North Carolina...
  Northern Haywood County in western North Carolina...
  Buncombe County in western North Carolina...

* Until 700 PM EDT.

* At 604 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from 7 miles east of Newport to 9 miles east of
  Gatlinburg, moving southeast at 50 mph.

  HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
           mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
  Downtown Asheville, Marshall, East Asheville, West Asheville, North
  Asheville, Woodfin, Canton, Weaverville, Mars Hill, and Biltmore
  Forest.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning
is one of nature`s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear
thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
