...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 AM HST THIS MORNING FOR THE
ISLAND OF OAHU IN HONOLULU COUNTY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.

* WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County.

* WHEN...Until 1030 AM HST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
  streams.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 729 AM HST, radar indicated bands of heavy rain over east
    Oahu. The highest rain rates were 1 to 2 inches per hour over
    the Maunawili and Waimanalo areas. Additional rainfall is
    moving toward Oahu from the south.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Honolulu, Kaneohe, Ahuimanu, Kalihi, Maunawili, Kahaluu,
    Moanalua, Manoa, Halawa, Aiea, Waiahole, Kailua, Salt Lake,
    Kaneohe Marine Base, Palolo, Waikane, Waimanalo, Pearl City,
    and Kaaawa.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

A Flood Watch is also in effect for Oahu through Friday evening.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 1030 AM HST if flooding
persists.
