...New AVIATION...

.NEAR TERM...
(Tonight)
Issued at 124 PM CDT Mon May 27 2024

Tranquil weather across the Tennessee Valley this afternoon is in
stark contrast to the very stormy weather we experienced in the
predawn hours earlier this morning. In wake of the cold front
that brought us those storms, a dry air mass is filtering into the
region which has resulted in a pleasant Memorial Day with partly
cloudy conditions and temperatures in the low to mid 80s. Cloud
cover will quickly diminish with the loss of heating later this
evening. The clear/calm conditions (along with the moist boundary
layer from earlier rainfall) will create an environment favorable
for patchy fog late tonight into early Tuesday morning.

.SHORT TERM...
(Tuesday through Thursday)
Issued at 124 PM CDT Mon May 27 2024

High pressure at the surface will build into the region Tuesday
through Thursday, promoting mostly sunny and dry conditions each
day. However, we will remain under the influence of a broad
upper- trough over the Great Lakes which will keep our mean flow
out of the northwest -- reinforcing a slightly cooler and drier
air mass. As a result, highs will run slight below normal for the
end of May, especially Wednesday and Thursday when they will peak
into the upper 70s to lower 80s.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Thursday night through Sunday)
Issued at 1055 PM CDT Sun May 26 2024

Dry air continues through the end of the week as upper level
ridging moves into the Tennessee Valley from the west. On Friday
evening, an upper level shortwave allows low-medium rain chances
to return to the area and continue through the weekend. During the
long term period, highs are forecast to be in the upper 70s/80s
with overnight lows in the 50s/60s.

.AVIATION...
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 530 PM CDT Mon May 27 2024

VFR conditions with light northwesterly winds are expected
through the TAF period. There is a low chance of some fog near
sunrise at both terminals, but confidence is low in this occurring
so therefore put that reduction in visibility in a TEMPO group.
