...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 1909, a violent F4 tornado with a track 20 miles long
and around 440 yards wide, tore through Pawnee and Barton
counties.  The tornado killed 3 and injured 23.  All 3
fatalities, and 16 of the injuries, occurred when the
tornado struck a Santa Fe work train.
