Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Wichita KS
519 PM CDT Fri May 24 2024

Clear conditions prevailed across Kansas this afternoon in the
wake of a cold front. Breezy northwest winds allowed highs to only
reach the low 70s in northwest Kansas while southeast Kansas saw
highs in the 80s. A line of showers and thunderstorms was
impacting northeast Oklahoma and southern Missouri.

Tranquil weather is expected tonight across the region as surface
high pressure settles over the area. This will allow temperatures
to plummet with lows in the 40s across parts of northern and
western Kansas while far southeast Kansas sees lows in the mid
50s.

Breezy southerly winds will return to the region on Saturday
allowing low level moisture to gradually return. Late day storms
may become severe, especially across the eastern half of Kansas.
Highs on Saturday are expected to top out in the 80s for much of
the area although southwest Kansas will see highs in the low to
mid 90s.
