.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1025 PM EDT Mon May 27 2024
It has been another quiet and warm evening across the Florida
Keys. Currently, KBYX is precipitation free across our CWA despite
earlier convection from seabreeze interactions on mainland Florida
and Cuba. Nighttime Microphysics satellite imagery depicts
generally clear skies across the Keys with a few wisps of high
cirrus debris dissipating over the eastern half of the island
chain. Current temperatures are in the mid 80s except for our more
"inland" outlier at Big Pine reading in 79F. Unfortunately,
dewpoints are in the mid to upper 70s resulting in a very muggy
evening. Breezes along the Reef continue to be out of the east to
southeast and have added a knot or two since this afternoon but
are still solidly in the light to gentle categories.

Tonight will be more of the same as previous nights. Despite deep
layer troughing stirring up strong to severe storms across the
east coast of CONUS earlier this evening, deep layer ridging in
the Gulf will keep hold of our sensible weather. In fact, our 00z
balloon sounding this evening saw an approximately 1000ft rise in
our freezing level from yesterday at the same time due to the
surface high nosing over our area from the western North Atlantic.
While our PW has rose a few tenths from then, a relatively dry
lower to mid level and unfavorable synoptic set up will keep rain
chances near nil tonight and only a slight chance tomorrow.
Breezes will remain out of the southeast and briefly surge to
possibly moderate values overnight before slackening tomorrow once
again. The forecast is on track with no changes required at this
time.

.MARINE...
Issued at 1025 PM EDT Mon May 27 2024
There are currently no watches, warnings, or advisories in effect
across the Florida Keys coastal waters. From synopsis, high
pressure over the western North Atlantic will maintain light to
gentle southeast to south breezes through Tuesday. Breezes will
surge one more time overnight tonight where breezes may
occasionally become moderate. As the high slides further east into
the Atlantic, breezes will slacken and become variable for
Tuesday night and Wednesday. Another strengthening high pressure
moves across the eastern United States and builds southward
resulting in strengthening northeast to east breezes for late
week. Freshening breezes will return by next weekend.
