...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT CENTRAL LAFAYETTE...NORTHEASTERN
ACADIA AND SOUTH CENTRAL ST. LANDRY PARISHES THROUGH 445 PM CDT...

At 416 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Maxie, or 7 miles north of Crowley, moving east at 5 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor
         objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Lafayette, Crowley, Scott, Rayne, Church Point, Iota, Sunset, Duson,
Cankton, Mowata, Maxie, Mire, Branch, and Richard.

This includes Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 76 and
99.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
