...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF CENTRAL ST. JOHN THE
BAPTIST AND NORTHWESTERN ST. CHARLES PARISHES THROUGH 1245 PM CDT
...

At 1210 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Montz, or near Hahnville. This thunderstorm was nearly stationary.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Reserve, Hahnville, Laplace, Killona, Norco, Montz, Edgard, Luling,
Destrehan, Taft, New Sarpy, St. Rose, Boutte, and Ama.

This includes the following Interstates...
 Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 203 and 220.
 Interstate 55 in Louisiana between mile markers 1 and 3.
 Interstate 310 between mile markers 2 and 11.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
