213 FZUS63 KMKX 050803 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 303 AM CDT Wed Jun 5 2024 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... A cold front and associated trough of low pressure averaging 29.5 inches will sweep across the lake this morning, turning winds to a westerly direction. A secondary cold front will move through the lake tonight, with gusty winds developing for Thursday. A large area of low pressure of 29.2 inches will gradually move through southern Canada, just north of the Great Lakes through the end of the week. Winds will remain westerly and breezy through this period. Showers will be possible at times late week as shortwaves move through the broad cyclonic flow across the region.
