OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
253 PM CDT Sat Jun 8 2024

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

South to southwest winds will persist across the northern half of
the Lake today before becoming westerly overnight. A frontal
boundary moving south across the southern lake will keep winds
out of the north as it passes. Light westerly winds will develop
overnight across the southern half of the lake as well. Breezy
northwest winds are then expected Sunday between high pressure of
30.2 inches over the Northern Plains and low pressure of 29.4
inches just east of James Bay in Canada. Breezy northerly winds
are likely Monday as the high continues to build in from the west,
with lighter winds Monday night as the high moves overhead.
Southerly winds are expected to pick up a bit Tuesday on the back
side of the high.
