853 FZUS63 KMQT 060207 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 1007 PM EDT Wed Jun 5 2024 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...The cold front associated with a 29.2 inch low over northern Ontario will support troughing of 29.3 inches across Lake Superior into tonight before the parent low pressure approaches James Bay early Thursday morning. The troughing over Lake Superior weakens to 29.6 inches Friday as the low fills to 29.4 inches over southern James Bay. Weak troughing at 29.7 inches remains in place over Lake Superior Saturday before weak ridging near 29.8 inches develops over Lake Superior on Sunday as a high pressure shifts into the Canadian Prairies. The ridge builds to 30.0 inches over Lake Superior Monday.
