At 723 PM CDT, a severe squall line capable of producing both tornadoes and extensive straight line wind damage was located near Omega, moving east at 65 mph. HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of Marion and southeastern Fayette Counties, including the following locations... St. Peter, Alma, Iuka, La Clede, Loogootee, Cartter, St. Paul, Brubaker, Kell, and Tonti. This includes Interstate 57 in Illinois between exits 109 and 135. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows.
