A few light showers possible this morning, otherwise mostly dry conditions with light east winds. Low clouds last through late morning, then lift early this afternoon. Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to move across the area this afternoon and evening. Some storms will produce locally heavy rainfall, which could result in instances of flash flooding in urban areas. Additionally, a few storms could become severe, with damaging wind gusts as the main threat. Winds become southeast, then south this afternoon at around 10 knots. Showers and thunderstorms dissipate overnight. Another round of showers and storms is expected Thursday afternoon as a cold front moves through the area. Dry conditions return Friday.
