722 FNUS71 KLWX 200959 FWSLWX Spot Forecast for Key Bridge Response...USCG National Weather Service Baltimore MD/Washington DC 559 AM EDT Mon May 20 2024 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 0600 EDT on May 20. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. Please contact our office if you have questions or concerns with this forecast. .DISCUSSION... A dry weather pattern is in store for the Key Bridge Incident area through much of Wednesday. The main story the next couple of days will be the low clouds and patchy dense fog. Current ceilings are around 1,000 feet (right around MVFR to IFR) with occasional reductions in visibility down to 3 to 5 statute miles. By a few hours after sunrise, expect these to mix out and yield a mostly sunny day with high temperatures into the mid/upper 70s. Given the continued onshore winds, another round of low clouds and fog are possible again tonight. This onshore flow also keeps tidal levels elevated. While not explicitly forecasted to reach Minor flooding, water levels do get fairly close during the high tides early Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. The pattern changes by late Wednesday into Thursday as a slow moving cold front approaches the area from the west. This will increase the risk of showers and thunderstorms, some possibly severe on Thursday. However, there are a lot of unknowns this far out. Monitor future forecast packages for updates on this threat. The current water temperature on the Patapsco River is 67 degrees.
