.SHORT TERM...
(Today through Tuesday Night)
Issued at 351 AM CDT Mon Jun 10 2024

Latest observational data show that the sfc CDFNT was situated just
to the south of AR early this mrng. Cooler and drier air was sloly
advecting into the state fm the north. Predawn temps were in the 50s
to arnd 60 in the north, with 60s and 70s elsewhere. Included patchy
dense fog for areas near the larger lakes/valleys over north AR this
mrng where clouds have cleared out.

Widely sctd convection was noted acrs central and southwest AR early
this mrng, seemingly assocd with the 850 mb bndry. Kept low PoPs
(20%) in the fcst this mrng for the southern half of the FA, with a
dcrsg trend as the bndry conts working to the south. Cloud cover wl
be slower to decrease fm the north as the day progresses.

Otherwise, benign wx conds are on tap for the area thru Tue as NW
flow aloft returns and a sfc ridge settles into the Mid-South. A
noticeably drier airmass wl also return, with temperatures trending
closer to seasonal norms. Highs today and Tue will range fm the upper
70s to the lower 80s, with nighttime lows in the mid 50s to the lower
60s.

.LONG TERM...
(Wednesday through Sunday)
Issued at 351 AM CDT Mon Jun 10 2024

The long term fcst wl be headlined by dry, hot, and relatively
settled condns. Cooler temps on Wed wl be on their way out as the
post-frntl airmass fm the short term begins to modify. Broad sfc
high pressure wl extend across much of Appalachia, w/ the FA
residing on the Wrn periphery of greater sfc subsidence. Upper lvl
ridging is expected to be in place over the Cont Divide to the Cntrl
Plains as well, which should keep chcs for rainfall limited around
the FA.

Srly sfc flow wl extend acrs much of the Srn Plains, and wl drive
incrsg daily high temps, w/ area readings trending towards above-
normal thru much of the long term, along with incrsg humidity
levels.

(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 1240 AM CDT Mon Jun 10 2024

Lingering cloud cover acrs central and south AR wl result in a
combo of MVFR/low end VFR ceilings thru the early mrng hrs. A few

into the FA, with clouds sloly decreasing later this mrng, with
VFR conds expected thru the rest of the fcst PD.
