057 FNUS54 KMAF 080715 FWFMAF Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX 215 AM CDT Sat Jun 8 2024 .DISCUSSION... Min RH near critical 15% is likely each day into early next week along/west of the Pecos River. Poor overnight recovery, above average temperatures, and critically dry fuels/ERCs above 75th percentile west of the Pecos River support IA fires in westernmost regions from the Sacramento Foothills into Culberson County and the Presidio Valley, but light winds may moderate this risk somewhat. A chance of storms each day due to heating of elevated terrain poses a risk of fire starts from lightning. Temperatures approach seasonal values Monday with more widespread rain chances, before a hot and dry summertime pattern returns for the remainder of the week. && For point-specific forecasts please see the Point Fire Weather Matrix product issued by the Midland/Odessa National Weather Service Office.
