...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT CENTRAL POLK COUNTY THROUGH 730
PM CDT...

At 658 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Dresser, or 31 miles north of River Falls, moving northeast at 35
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Osceola, St. Croix Falls, Frederic, Luck, Balsam Lake, Centuria,
Milltown, Dresser, Straight Lake Wilderness State Park, and Nye.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in the Twin Cities.
