...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN LEE...NORTH CENTRAL
SCOTT AND WISE COUNTIES AND THE CITY OF NORTON THROUGH 700 PM EDT...

At 554 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Big Stone Gap, or 13 miles southwest of Norton, moving northeast at
20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Norton, Wise, Big Stone Gap, Coeburn, Appalachia, Pound, Duffield,
Jasper, Pardee, and Dryden.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
