...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM EDT
FOR COCKE AND EAST CENTRAL SEVIER COUNTIES...

At 603 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Smoky
Mountains-Big Creek, or 8 miles south of Newport, moving southeast at
45 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Newport, Del Rio, Round Mountain, Cosby, Hartford, Max Patch, and
Waterville.

This includes Interstate 40 in Tennessee between mile markers 432 and
451.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Prepare immediately for damaging winds. People outside should move
to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from windows.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
