...NOAA Weather Radio station off the air...

WXL-58, located in Chapel Hill and serving the northeast Piedmont
on 162.550 MHZ is off the air. Restoration efforts are underway,
however the transmitter may be down for an extended period of
time.

During this maintenance period, the WXL-58 transmitter is
expected to be out of service for an unknown amount of time.

During this time, the transmitter cannot be restored within an
hour.

Residents who normally listen to WXL-58 are encouraged to try tuning
into an adjacent NOAA weather radio transmitter. One of the
following transmitters may provide backup reception to the areas
normally served by WXL-58:

WNG-706, located in Garner, serves the eastern Piedmont and central
coastal plain on 162.450 MHZ.

WNG-586, located in Henderson, serves the northeast Piedmont and
south central Virginia on 162.500 MHZ.

WNG-597, located in Ellerbe, serves the southern Piedmont and
western Sandhills and northeastern South Carolina on 162.400 MHZ.
