...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT CENTRAL ORANGE...SOUTHWESTERN
GRANVILLE...NORTH CENTRAL WAKE AND DURHAM COUNTIES THROUGH 1100 PM
EDT...

At 1016 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Hillsborough, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Durham, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, Creedmoor, Butner, Efland, Lake
Michie, Falls Lake State Rec Area, Eno River State Park, and Gorman.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for
central North Carolina.
