Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast

.SYNOPSIS...An upper level trough will produce cool and
occasionally showery conditions across Western Washington into
Sunday. The trough will move east of the region by Sunday
afternoon and a weak upper level ridge will give drier and
somewhat warmer conditions on Monday. Another trough will arrive
on Tuesday for a return to cool and unsettled conditions for much
of next week.

.IMPACTS...Strong winds near the summit will make it difficult to
move safely and could produce local whiteout conditions. A high
level of skill and experience in alpine terrain, including use of
GPS, is recommended for navigation and camping in these
conditions.

.SATURDAY...Mostly sunny in the morning, then a chance of showers
early in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy with showers, snow showers
likely and a slight chance of thunderstorms late in the
afternoon. Patchy fog late in the afternoon. Little or no snow
accumulation near Paradise. Snow level near 4000 feet.
.SATURDAY NIGHT...Patchy fog in the evening. Showers, snow
showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening, then
mostly cloudy with a chance of showers after midnight. Snow
accumulation near Paradise of 1 to 5 inches. Snow level near
4000 feet.
.SUNDAY...Partly sunny. A slight chance of showers in the
morning, then a chance of showers in the afternoon. Snow level
near 4000 feet.
.SUNDAY NIGHT...Partly cloudy. Freezing level near 5500 feet.
.MONDAY...Sunny. Freezing level near 5500 feet increasing to
7000 feet in the afternoon.
