...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM APPROACHING THE COASTAL WATERS OF WESTERN
PUERTO RICO...

  Coastal Waters OF Northwestern Puerto Rico out 10 NM...
  Coastal Waters OF Southwestern Puerto Rico out 10 NM...
  Mona Passage Southward to 17N...

At 541 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm,
capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and frequent
lightning. Waterspouts are possible. This thunderstorm was located
over western Puerto Rico, moving west-southwest at 15 knots into the
coastal waters and Mona Passage.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes.

Intense lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open
water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal
objects.

Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
forecast office.
