...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN JEFFERSON...NORTHERN
SHAWNEE AND SOUTHEASTERN JACKSON COUNTIES THROUGH MIDNIGHT CDT...

At 1113 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms
along a line extending from 3 miles northeast of Hoyt to Topeka.
Movement was northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Strong wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Topeka, Tecumseh, Silver Lake, Meriden, Hoyt, Ozawkie, Mayetta,
Potawatomi Reservation, and Grantville.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 70 between mile markers 348 and 355.
 Kansas Turnpike near mile marker 182.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 200 AM CDT for
northeastern and east central Kansas.
