At 142 PM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain generally southwest
of a Tulsa to Fort Smith line. Thunderstorms with locally heavy rain
were located in Choctaw, Pittsburg and Osage counties in Oklahoma.
The precipitation was in the Tulsa area. Movement was to the
northeast at around 15 mph. The average amount where it rained last
hour was around one quarter of an inch with maximum amounts of two
to two and a half inches. Coverage, and intensity increased during
the last hour. The Tulsa area forecast for this afternoon, mostly
cloudy, showers and thunderstorms likely with temperatures 74 to 80
degrees and southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.
