Today:

Scattered showers passed through southern Iowa overnight and remained
in the far southeast early this morning. Meanwhile, additional showers
and a few storms were passing through northern Iowa. Elsewhere, skies
were mostly cloudy with temperatures in the upper 50s to upper 60s
across the state. The showers in the north will move southeast this
morning and are expected to exit the state by midday. Meanwhile, north
winds increase over much of Iowa by afternoon at 10 to 20 mph. Highs
today are expected to range from the mid 70s to low 80s.

Tonight and beyond:

Relatively tranquil weather is expected from tonight into Monday.
Limited cloudiness is forecast along with near seasonal temperatures
with readings mainly in the mid 70s to low 80s. A front is expected to
pass through the state on Tuesday with a chance of scattered showers
and storms. An increasing push of warmer air is expected towards the
later half of next week as temperatures may push 90 degrees in
portions of the state.
