975 FNUS56 KEKA 111035 FWFEKA FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHWEST CALIFORNIA NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE Eureka CA 335 AM PDT Tue Jun 11 2024 .DISCUSSION...Interior temperatures will remain well above normal today through Wednesday, especially for Trinity, Lake and interior Mendocino counties where temperatures are forecast to peak in the upper 90s to around 103 degrees. Temperatures are forecast to trend down on Thursday, but remain above normal. Minimum RH`s from 15 to 25% are expected each day through the end of the week. The exception will be coastal areas and adjacent river valleys susceptible to marine air influences where minimum RH`s from 60 to 70% are forecast. Overnight RH recoveries will generally remain good where winds decouple and become calm. Much poorer RH recoveries around 30% or lower are expected over exposed ridges where strong and gusty northerly winds persist through the night. A significant cooling trend is forecast Friday through Sunday with temperatures most likely falling well below mid June normals by Sunday. Also, gusty westerly to northwesterly winds are forecast to return on Friday and then strengthen over the weekend.
