A very pleasant spring day is ongoing across the Tennessee Valley
as skies have become mostly clear allowing temperatures to rise
into the upper 70s/lower 80s. Sfc high pressure will keep dry
conditions in place through the remainder of the overnight period,
with the main concern tonight being fog development. Clear skies
and light winds combined with high near sfc moisture from recent
rainfall will lead to a favorable setup for at least patchy dense
fog, and this will need to be monitored overnight in case another
Dense Fog Advisory is needed. Otherwise, expect lows to fall to
the low to mid 60s area wide.

.SHORT TERM...
(Monday through Wednesday)

Sfc high pressure will remain anchored to our east as upper
ridging builds over the area, resulting in a dry but warming
forecast through the short term period. Expect highs in the mid to
upper 80s each day, with a few locations potentially hitting the
90 degree mark. Will start the week with light southeasterly flow,
increasing on Wednesday as gradient flow tightens between the
broad ridge to our south and upper troughing digging into the
upper Midwest. Overall, could not really ask for better weather
for late May, even if it is a tad bit warm. Remember to practice
heat safety and remain hydrated if spending time outdoors!

.LONG TERM...
(Wednesday night through Saturday)

The aforementioned cold front will clip the Tennessee Valley
Wednesday night into Thursday, bringing low to medium (30-60%)
chances for showers and thunderstorms -- before this activity
tapers off Thursday night. We may stay in an active pattern to
kick off the Memorial Day holiday weekend, thanks to zonal flow
aloft allowing a couple of shortwaves to ripple through the area
both Friday and Saturday. This will bring some additional chances
for showers and thunderstorms both days. Despite the cloud cover,
temperatures should still reach the low to perhaps mid 80s each
day.

After morning fog dissipated across the area, mostly clear skies
and VFR conds will continue thru the TAF period at both KHSV and
KMSL. Some patchy fog is again possible overnight, but confidence
is low in inclusion at both terminals for now.
