.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1000 PM EDT Tue Jun 4 2024
A broken cumulus cloud line forming along the island chain
struggled through the late afternoon hours, then gradually
dissipated. This was likely a response to the surprising dry layer
sampled in the 00z sounding at KEY between 950-875 mb. KBYX radar
is generally void of any meteorological echo returns across the
Florida Keys and the adjacent nearshore and offshore coastal
waters. Seasonably muggy conditions are being observed across the
island chain, with temperatures generally in the lower to mid 80s
and dew points in the lower 70s. Given the aforementioned sampled
dry air, elected to nudge measurable rain chances down to slight
levels overnight. With the lack of large-scale forcing for ascent,
any shower activity will generally be produced by any residual
boundary interactions, which appear somewhat limited given the
lack of convection this evening across South Florida. No other
changes proposed for this late evening forecast update.

.MARINE...
Issued at 1000 PM EDT Tue Jun 4 2024
No watches, warnings, or advisories are in effect for Florida Keys
coastal waters zones. An Atlantic pressure ridge will extend westward
across the southeastern United States over the next couple of
days. As a result, gentle to moderate easterly breezes will
persist, peaking during the afternoon and evening hours.
Thereafter, the ridge will shift southward across Florida,
resulting in slackening and, at times, variable breezes. The next
upper level trough moves in starting Sunday will southerly breezes
gradually freshening.

.AVIATION...
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 1000 PM EDT Tue Jun 4 2024
VFR conditions will prevail at both island terminals through the
TAF period. Rain and thunder coverage will largely be limited to
any residual boundary collisions overnight, but dry low-level air
sampled this evening suggests chances are too low to include
mention in the TAFs at this time. Near-surface winds will remain
out of the east at 8 to 10 knots.
