.NOW...
The most potent thunderstorms are over the southeastern Gulf north
of the Lower Keys and will continue to race off to the northeast at
30 to 35 knots towards the Ten Thousand Islands. Meanwhile,
redevelopment has started north of Havana in the distant Straits of
Florida. Through 930 PM, scattered thundery squalls will race to the
north to northeast at 20 to 25 knots towards the Dry Tortugas, the
Marquesas, and western most portions of the Lower Keys. These storms
will be capable of localized wind gusts near 35 knots, blinding
downpours, and bouts of frequent lightning. For the island
communities, light to occasional moderate rain will continue, with
additional accumulations approaching a quarter of an inch. Stay tuned
to NOAA weather radio for pertinent warnings or statements.
