Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
616 AM PDT Mon May 27 2024

.DISCUSSION...High pressure will be over the area today. The ridge
will begin to move eastward allowing for southwesterly flow and
some increase in moisture. There will be a low (<20%) chance of
showers and thunderstorms from central Oregon to southeastern
Washington late this afternoon into Tuesday morning.

An upper level trough and cold front will move through the area
Tuesday afternoon and evening and bring a better chance of showers
and thunderstorms mainly to the mountains of eastern Oregon and
southeastern Washington. Some of the thunderstorms in these areas
could be strong to severe. Precipitation chances should decrease
into Wednesday, except over the far eastern Oregon mountains and
everywhere by Wednesday night.

Westerly winds will increase later Tuesday into Wednesday and
become breezy through the Columbia Basin, Simcoe Highlands and
Kittitas Valley.

***Thunderstorms imply strong gusty winds***
***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages***
***CWR-chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater***
