400 FNUS75 KPUB 081502 FWSPUB Spot Forecast for Monument Fire Center...Pike NF National Weather Service Pueblo CO 902 AM MDT Sat Jun 8 2024 Forecast is based on ignition time of 1100 MDT on June 08. If conditions become unrepresentative, contact the National Weather Service. Please contact our office at (719) 948-9429, if you have questions or concerns with this forecast. .DISCUSSION... Rain and thunderstorms, some of which could be severe, are expected for today and tomorrow. A cold front passed through the area last night, which has ushered in cooler temperatures, along with an increase in moisture. This extra moisture will increase the coverage and severity of thunderstorms for both today and tomorrow. For today, our main concerns will be hail up to 1.5 inches, damaging winds gusting up to 70 mph, and lightning. Couldn`t rule out a small chance for tornadic development along the Palmer Divide either, though the burn site is likely too far west to see a tornado today. For tomorrow, chances for excessive rainfall and localized flash flooding increase, and we will continue to see chances for hail and damaging winds as well. Please continue to monitor weather conditions this weekend at the burn site, as conditions could change rapidly during the afternoon and evening hours. Thunderstorms tend to develop along the terrain directly west of the burn site, and along the Palmer Divide, and could develop overhead as well. Please do not hesitate to call our office for updates this weekend! .REST OF TODAY... Sky/weather.........Partly sunny(60 percent).
