Hydrometeorological Discussion
National Weather Service / California Nevada RFC / Sacramento CA
645 AM PDT Fri May 24 2024

...SCATTERED SHOWERS POSSIBLE MAINLY NORTH AND EAST TODAY/SAT...
...COOLER THAN AVG TEMPS WILL REBOUND A BIT INTO NEXT WEEK...

.METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (FRI AM - THU AM)...

Troffing along the west coast this morning as a s/wv trof is poised
to slide onshore later today and then shift off toward the east this
Monday. This feature will bring the best opportunity for scattered
precip...mainly over the higher terrain from northeast CA and then
down the crest of the Sierra...and points east over the northern 2/3
of NV. This pattern will also bring cooler than normal temperatures
this weekend...before seeing these rebounding into next week heights
rise with an upr ridge building across the interior...while a deep
upr low remains situated over the Gulf of Alaska.

Into next week...the upr ridge across the interior will push
eastward as the system over the Gulf of Alaska digs a bit and moves
toward the west coast. Precip with this feature looks to remain
north of the area...but this will preclude warming a bit during the
middle of the week.
