...NWS Meteorologists Confirm EF-1 Tornado Damage Near Winfield
in Marion County Alabama...

The National Weather Service office in Birmingham AL is currently
conducting a storm survey for the area near Winfield in Marion
County Alabama. The survey is in relation to the severe
thunderstorms that moved through the area on the evening of June
5, 2024.

Thus far, low-end EF-1 damage and estimated wind speeds of 90 to
95mph has been confirmed in the City of Winfield, where numerous
trees were snapped or uprooted. The storm survey remains ongoing.

A final assessment including final results of the survey are
expected to be completed and transmitted via a Public Information
Statement and on social media by this afternoon.
