Today:

The thunderstorms that moved through Iowa Tuesday afternoon and
evening bringing a few reports of hail, gusty winds, and locally heavy
rainfall are mainly east of the state early this morning. Clouds were
also on their way out with the western two-thirds of Iowa already
have a clear sky. Winds are from the west or northwest and generally
under 10 mph. Temperatures were dipping into the 50s in most cloud-
free areas.

The day will start with plenty of sunshine, but a fast moving system
will bring a few showers into the state, especially northern Iowa.
Winds will also be brisk and at times could gust over 40 mph. These
gusts will be strongest with any of those showers. Temperatures will
still peak well into the 70s to the low 80s in most areas.

Tonight and beyond:

The remainder of the week into this weekend will feature slightly
cooler, but seasonal temperatures and lower humidity - the latter of
which is not typical for early June. Thursday will be a windier day
with the strongest winds over northern Iowa, which could gust up to
around 40 mph. The forecast continues to favor a dry conditions with
the only chance of a few passing showers or storms being Friday night.
