High pressure continues to settle into the region today. A drier
airmass will also reside across the forecast area, resulting in
noticeably less humid conditions. Despite high clouds filtering
through the region, sunny skies will exist as highs this afternoon
range from the middle 80s to around 90.

The overall forecast is in good shape this morning. Aside from
refreshing some hourly elements of the forecast to better fit
ongoing trends, no major changes will be made on this morning`s
forecast update. /19/

The cold front will have moved south of our area and all rain
chances will be pretty much non-existent. A stray shower does
have the possibility to sneak into the far southern counties in
the CWA this afternoon but remains very unlikely. Surface high
pressure will build into the area as northerly flow advects into
the area along with cooler drier air. Temperatures will be a
little cooler today, with highs in the 80s for most of the area,
with regions of the Pine Belt climbing into the low 90s. We can
also expect to see seasonably cool temperatures tonight with temps
dropping into the upper 50s to upper 60s near the coast. We can
expect to see mostly clear to partly cloudy skies with only
lingering high clouds through tonight./KP/

Wednesday through Monday night. A mostly dry extended pattern is in
store for the ArkLaMs. Surface high pressure ridging will continue
to prevail across the area on Wednesday, with highs in the upper 80s
to low 90s. Upper and surface ridging will strengthen across the
area on Thursday, with highs climbing in to the low to mid 90s. Heat
is going to be the main concern as we move into the weekend, as
upper ridging continues to strengthen. Highs on Friday will be in
the mid/upper 90s, but will be in the upper 90s on Saturday, with
heat indices climbing into the low 100s. The heat will continue on
Sunday, but increasing moisture may allow chances for showers/storms
Sunday afternoon. Afternoon showers/storms will continue to be
possible on Monday and this may help keep temperatures a little
cooler, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s./15/
