.NOW...
Through 200 am, the mesoanalysis products from the Storm Prediction
Center indicate strong converging winds from the SFC through 10
thousand feet persists across the Florida Keys. This pattern will
maintain widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms across the
Florida Keys for the next several hours. Recent trends suggest a
gradual transition to stratiform rainfall over the Keys. Radar
imagery indicates the heaviest rainfall is tapering off over the
Lower and Middle Keys, though the regions from Sugarloaf to Marathon
will continue to see the most precipitation. An additional one to
two inches of rain is likely in this region. The movement of the
discrete thunderstorms has slowed to 10 to 15 mph, so localized gusts
likely will be limited to 30 to 35 mph. Stay tuned to NOAA weather
radio for additional warnings or statements.
